Dünya’da her
geçen gün artan turist talebinden dolayı,
daha fazla oranda pay alabilmek
veya koruyabilmek amacıyla varolan turizm arz verilerinin yanında turizm
faaliyetlerinde çalışan kalifiye elemanlara da ihtiyaç vardır. Turist rehberleri, ülke ve
bölge tanıtımını en etkili biçimde yapan, tarihi ve kültürel varlıkları en
doğru şekilde antalan, dolayısıyla turistler ile ülke arasında iletişim
sağlayan ve birer kültür elçisi olan kişilerdir.
Bu sebeple, bu bireylerin aldığı eğitimler de çok önem kazanmaktadır. Yükseköğretim
düzeyinde verilen turizm eğitimi önlisans, lisans ve lisansüstü düzeyinde
olmaktadır. Turist Rehberliği Meslek Yönetmeliği’nin 9. (dokuzuncu) maddesine
göre turist rehberi olabilmek için sertifika programında okutulması gereken dersler
belirtilmiştir. Bu araştırmada Türkiye’de lisans düzeyinde turizm rehberliği
eğitimi veren fakülte ve yüksekokulların ders müfredatları incelenerek yönetmeliğe
uygunluğu araştırılmıştır. Bu aşamada fakülte ve yüksekokulların web sitesinden
yararlanılarak ders müfredatları incelenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, ilgili
programlarda verilen yabancı dil eğitimleri incelenmiş ve lisanüstü düzeyde
turizm rehberliği eğitimi veren üniversiteler belirlenerek tablolar halinde
sunulmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda yönetmeliğe göre okutulması gereken
derslerin bazılarının seçmeli ders şeklinde verildiği tespit edilmiştir.
Purpose and
Importance:: The aim of this study is to examine the curriculum of
the faculties and colleges which give undergraduate level tourism guidance
training in Turkey and investigate the regulatory compliance of the compulsory
courses taught in the tourist guidance certificate program according to the
article 9 of the Tourist Guiding Professional Regulation. This research is
important in terms of determining whether the courses are taught according to
the relevant regulation and differences in the curriculum.
Methodology: In the study, literature review on tourist guide and
tourist guide education was conducted. To identify faculties and colleges that
give Tourism Guidance training, YÖK Atlas web site was used. This website
contains all 2017-2018 ÖSYM Higher Education programs in Turkey. In order to
identify the curricula, the course curricula were examined using the web sites
of faculties and colleges. In order to determine the appropriateness of course
curricula with the 6326 Tourist Guidance Profession Law and Profession
Regulations, compulsory courses for the certificate program were investigated.
Findings: In Turkey, a total of 35 universities and 37 departments give
under-graduate level tourism guidance training. There are two different
departments that give this training: "Tourism Guidance" and
"Travel Management and Tourism Guidance". It was observed that some
of the courses that are mandatory for the certificate program according to the
regulation are taught as elective courses at some universities. Moreover, it
can be seen that the names of the courses can also different.
Originality/ Scientific Value: This study is important in
terms of examining the curriculum of the faculties and colleges which give
undergraduate level tourism guidance training in Turkey and determining the
regulatory compliance of the compulsory courses taught in the tourist guidance
certificate program. When the relevant literature was reviewed, it was seen
that there were no such study had been done before.
Limitations: In this study, only the curricula of faculties and colleges giving
undergraduate education were examined. The results could not be compared with
other studies because of the absence of similar studies.
