Obesity is a chronic health problem with excessive accumulation of fat in body fat tissues to the extent that it impairs human health. Genetic, personal and environmental factors that play a role in the development of obesity cause energy balance to be disrupted. The effects of one of these factors, hormones, on energy metabolism are among current research topics and it is important to know the hormones associated with weight gain. Information concerning the role of hormones in weight control and energy metabolism has been coming to light in recent years. In this study, created with the traditional compilation method, biochemical parameters (hormones), which are the factors affecting energy metabolism and obesity, have been examined and evaluated by using the keywords of obesity, energy metabolism and hormone in Pub Med, Google Scholar and Web of Science databases. As a result of the studies examined, it can be seen that hormones may be a risk factor in the formation of obesity and long-term experimental studies are needed to indicate the importance of their metabolic effects
