INVESTIGATION ADOLESCENT’S PERSONALITY TRAITS AND RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL ATTITUDE

Although rapidly developing technology offers lots of opportunities, it also holds the
elements that threaten the environment, community and individual. There is a need for researching individuals'
attitudes in order to arouse awareness. The individuals taking part in education and training process in the secondary
education institutions are the members of community of next decades at the macro level. Identifying individuals'
attitudes towards the environment can offer opportunities of making developer interventions in both education and
training processes. Developing environmental consciousness, sensitivity and awareness in adolescents and
identifying emotional, ideational and behavioral elements of their attitudes on account of environment can offer
instructive opportunities for structuring the future. In structuring this process, effective steps can be taken in
transforming the knowledge into skill and the feeling and thought into behavior. In the research, the Form, in which
Environmental Attitudes Scale developed by Uzun and Saglam (2006), adaptation from Atak (2013) ten item
inventory, and individualistic determiners relating to the environment took place, was used. SPSS statistic program
was utilized in data analysis by using descriptive statistic techniques. In the research, the result has been reached
womens are generally inclined more than mens about environmental sensitivity and joining a project about
environment and about this subjects womens are more sensitive and more willing than mens. Who is qualified itself
high consciousness and extrovert, on this persons the result has been reached environmental sensitivity is higher
than other persons.
