Konu Alanı Ders Kitabı İnceleme Dersi Kapsamında Matematiği Öğretme Bilgisinin Geliştirilmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, Konu Alanı Ders Kitabı İnceleme dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen uygulamalara yönelik öğretmen adaylarının değerlendirmelerini incelemektir. Konu Alanı Ders Kitabı İnceleme dersinin içeriği, kitap incelemenin yanı sıra öğretme bilgisinin gelişimini destekleyecek şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Adaylar grupça paylaşımlar içerisinde bir ders planı geliştirmiş ve geliştirdikleri ders planını hem üniversite ortamında arkadaşlarına, hem de okul ortamında öğrencilere sunmuştur. Bu süreç her iki sunumda planlama, uygulama, yansıma döngüsü içerisinde gerçekleşmiştir. Çalışmaya ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği programı dördüncü sınıfında okuyan 94 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Adaylara ders kapsamında yapılan uygulamaları değerlendirmeleri için final sınavında açık uçlu bir soru sorulmuştur. Adayların bu soruya verdikleri açıklamalar içerik analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, öğretmen adaylarının çoğunluğu ders sürecinde bir ders planı hazırlarken hangi noktalara dikkat etmeleri gerektiğini öğrendiklerini, ders planının öğrenci karşında etkisini görme fırsatı yakaladıklarını, öğretmenlik mesleği için iyi bir deneyim yaşadıkları, öğrencinin seviyesine inmenin ve seviyesini anlamanın ne kadar önemli olduğunu fark ettiklerini açıklamıştır. Öğretmen adayları baskın olarak olumlu görüşler belirtse de bazı öğretmen adayları kendilerinin öğrenci karşısında sunum yapamamalarını ders süreci ile ilgili olumsuz bir durum olarak açıklamaktadır.

Development of the Knowledge of Mathematics Teaching Through the Textbook Review Course

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the pre-service teachers' development with reference to the practices implemented within the framework of the Textbook Review Course pertaining to their field. The content of the Textbook Review Course is organized to support teaching knowledge in addition to reviewing the book. In the study, the pre-service teachers developed a lesson plan in interaction with the rest of the group, and presented the lesson plan they came up with to both their classmates at the university, and to students at a school. The pre-service teachers were given an open-ended question in the final exam, asking for an evaluation of the practices applied during the course. The answers provided by the pre-service teachers in response to this question were analyzed using content analysis technique. The analysis revealed that the majority of the pre-service teachers learned through the course about what to take into account when planning a lesson, had an opportunity to witness the effectiveness of the lesson plan with the students, got a robust experience of teaching profession, and came to realize how crucial it is to reach down to the level of the students and to understand their actual level of proficiency.
