The main purpose of the journal is to contribute to language education and training, to include scientific studies that are based on social sciences, especially philology and linguistics, native language education / teaching, foreign language teaching, Turkish language, Turkish teaching and the Turkish world

Top-bottom, left-right margins: 2.5 cm

Line Spacing: 1

Font: Times News Roman (In the special font used papers, the font used should be sent with the papers.)

Font Style: Normal



Title: The title should be written in Times New Roman font, 12 points, in bold letters, reflecting the content and scope of the paper. The first letter of the words in the title of the paper must be written in capital letters and must consist of a maximum of 12 words.

Abstract

At the beginning of the paper, there must be an abstract in Turkish and English, consisting of a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 300 words, expressing the subject shortly and concisely. The objectives, methods, results, conclusions of the research should be briefly mentioned in the abstract.



Keywords

A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords reflecting the content of the paper must be added under the abstracts. Each keyword should be separated by commas and written in lower case.

Subtitles

No numbering should be made in the Introduction, Conclusion and References sections of the paper. Subtitles gradually should be numbered in the form “1.1, 2.3, 3.2.2, 4.1.3.1 etc.”. Subtitles should be written with the first letter capitalized.

Footnotes

Footnotes should not be used to cite references, and explanations that are indirectly related to the main topic of the paper should be made by using footnotes starting from number 1. Footnotes should be written in 9 points at the bottom of the page.

Citations and References

Direct quotations in the article should be given in quotation marks. Quotations exceeding five lines should be intended 1.5 cm from the right and left margin in 10 points. Reference citation in the text should be written as stated below, with the surname, year and page number in parentheses:

5. The name of the study is written for studies which have unknown dates and authors;

6. The original source will be also indicated for citations from the secondary source.

Reference List

The papers should be written alphabetically according to the surnames of the authors as stated below. The reference list must include only those references which are cited in the text of the paper. References with the same authors in the same order must be arranged by year of publication. An author’s publications that are published in the same year must be arranged as (2021a, 2021b).

The Journal of Philology Bengu is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal and is published online twice a year (November-May) in six-month periods. The special issue can also be published by decision of the Editorial Board.
The publication language of the journal is Turkish. The papers written in English and other Turkish dialects, around 30%, can also be included on condition that depending on publication policy by the volume of journal.
Submitted papers are checked by the field editors in terms of article template, literature, method, findings and results; papers deemed appropriate by the field editors are sent to the referees for evaluation.
Philology Bengu uses a double-sided blind review system. Submissions found suitable are referred to three referees working in relevant fields. The articles receiving a positive report from both referees are put on the list to be published. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the article is forwarded to a third referee. According to the report of the third referee, it is decided whether the article will be published or not.
The papers sent to the journal are accepted as an application for publication. No fee is charged for the papers sent to the journal or published in the journal, and no royalties are paid to the author(s) for the published the papers.
It is recommended that submissions should not exceed thirty pages on average.
Submissions must not have been published previously nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Submissions are checked by a plagiarism detection program. It is confirmed that the submissions have not been published previously and do not have plagiarism through the iThenticate program. The papers having plagiarism are rejected.
The evaluation period of the articles is three months. However, this situation may vary depending on the feedback of the referees, different situations and conditions such as whether the author makes the corrections requested by the referees or not.
The evaluation period of the submissions by the referees is fifteen days. A reminder message is sent to the referee who has not evaluated within this period. A new referee is appointed instead of the referee who has not given feedback within fifteen days after the reminder message.
The author accepts that the journal will acquire copyright over all published material.
The legal responsibilities deriving from the content of the papers published in the journal belong entirely to the author(s).
If the submissions are supported by any institution or organization, this institution or organization should be indicated as a footnote in text.
The journal management and journal editorial board do not have any responsibility for the content, results and comments of the papers published in the journal. In addition, since it has not been stated or determined that it has been published previously, the legal consequences that may arise regarding the copyrights of the published papers belong entirely to the author(s).
If their papers are published, the journal author accepts that there are no criminal or illegal expressions in their papers and any illegal materials and methods are not used during the research and all necessary permissions (if any) have been obtained related to the paper.
The author accepts that the journal management and journal editorial board do not have any responsibility for the content, results, comments of the article. In addition, the author accepts that the journal management and journal editorial board have no responsibility for claims or lawsuits to be filed by third parties due to copyright infringement, all responsibility belongs to the author.

No fee is charged for the articles sent or published in the journal of Philology Bengü, where the articles are evaluated using the double-blind peer-review system.
