Ethical Responsibilities of Authors Author(s) who submit work to the Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities; The publication processes implemented in the Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy form the basis for the development and distribution of information in an impartial and respectful manner. The processes implemented in this direction are directly reflected in the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support the authors. Peer-reviewed studies are studies that embody and support the scientific method. At this point, it is important that all stakeholders of the process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, referees and editors) comply with the standards regarding ethical principles. Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy within the scope of publication ethics All stakeholders are expected to bear the following ethical responsibilities. The works submitted by the author(s) are expected to be original. If the author(s) benefit from or use other works, they are required to cite and/or quote completely and accurately. Persons who do not contribute intellectually to the content in the creation of the work should not be listed as authors. All studies submitted for publication must disclose situations and relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest, if any. Raw data regarding their articles may be requested from the author(s) within the framework of the evaluation processes; in such a case, the author(s) should be ready to present the expected data and information to the editorial board and scientific committee. The author(s) must have a document showing that they have the rights to use the data used, the necessary permissions for the research/analysis, or that the consent of the experimental subjects has been obtained. Author(s) published, If he/she notices a mistake or error regarding his/her work at the early appearance or evaluation stage, he/she has the obligation to cooperate with the editor in informing, correcting or retracting the journal editor or publisher. Authors cannot submit their work to more than one journal's application process at the same time. Each application can be initiated following completion of the previous application. Work published in another journal cannot be sent to the Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy. Changing the author responsibilities of a study whose evaluation process has already started (such as adding authors, changing the author order, removing authors, etc.) cannot be proposed. Relations with readers Editors must make their decisions by taking into account the knowledge, skills and experience expectations of all readers, researchers and practitioners. Published studies contribute to readers, researchers, practitioners and scientific literature. and must be original. In addition, editors are obliged to take into account the feedback from readers, researchers and practitioners and to give descriptive and informative feedback. Relations with authors The duties and responsibilities of editors towards authors are as follows: Editors must make positive or negative decisions based on the importance of the studies, their original value, validity, clarity of expression and the aims and objectives of the journal. Studies that are suitable for the scope of publication should be taken to the preliminary evaluation stage unless they have serious problems. Editors should not ignore positive referee suggestions unless there is a serious problem with the study. New editors should not change the decisions made by the previous editor(s) regarding the work unless there is a serious problem. "Blind Referee and Evaluation Process" must be published and editors must prevent any deviations that may occur in the defined processes. Authors in a descriptive and informative manner notification and return must be provided. Relations with referees Editors' duties and responsibilities towards referees are as follows: They must appoint referees in accordance with the subject of the study. It is responsible for providing the information and guides that the referees will need during the evaluation phase. It is necessary to consider whether there is a conflict of interest between authors and referees. In the context of blind refereeing, referees must keep their identity information confidential. It should encourage referees to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language. It should determine practices and policies that increase the performance of referees. Necessary steps must be taken to dynamically update the referee pool. Unkind and unscientific evaluations should be discouraged. Steps should be taken to ensure that the referee pool consists of a broad spectrum. Relations with the editorial board Editors must ensure that all editorial board members carry out the processes in accordance with the publication policies and guidelines. editorial board It must inform its members about its publication policies and keep them informed of developments. Also editors; Editorial board members must ensure that they evaluate the work impartially and independently. The new editorial board members must be determined to be able to contribute and have appropriate qualifications. Editorial board members should submit studies that are in line with their area of ​​expertise for evaluation. Must interact regularly with the editorial board. Meetings should be held at regular intervals with the editorial board for the development of publication policies and the journal. Relations with the journal owner and publisher The relationship between editors and the publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. In accordance with the written agreement between the editors and the publisher, all decisions taken by the editors are independent of the publisher and the journal owner. Editorial and blind peer review processes Editors; is responsible for implementing the "Blind Review and Evaluation Process" policies included in the journal's publication policies. In this context, editors Ensures that the evaluation process of each study is completed in a fair, impartial and timely manner. Quality assurance Editors; It is responsible for the publication of every article published in the journal in accordance with the journal publication policies and international standards. Protection of personal data Editors; is responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data regarding the subjects or images included in the evaluated studies. Unless the explicit consent of the individuals used in the studies is documented, it is the duty to refuse the study. Also editors; is responsible for protecting the individual data of authors, referees and readers. Ethics committee, human and animal rights Editors; It is responsible for ensuring the protection of human and animal rights in the evaluated studies. Ethics committee approval regarding the subjects used in the studies is responsible for rejecting the study in cases where there are no permissions for experimental research. Precautions against possible abuse and malfeasance Editors; possible abuse and misconduct is obliged to take precautions against usage. In addition to conducting a meticulous and objective investigation to identify and evaluate complaints regarding this situation, sharing the relevant findings is among the editor's responsibilities. To ensure the integrity of academic publications, editors must ensure that errors, inconsistencies or misleading judgments in studies are quickly corrected. Protection of intellectual property rights Editors; It is obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and to defend the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of possible violations. In addition, editors are obliged to take the necessary precautions to ensure that the contents of all published articles do not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications. Constructiveness and openness to discussion Editors; He/she should take into account convincing criticisms of the works published in the journal and display a constructive attitude towards these criticisms. To the author(s) of the criticized works should give the right of reply. One should not ignore or exclude studies containing negative results. Complaints Editors; The author is obliged to carefully examine complaints from referees or readers and respond in an enlightening and explanatory manner. Political and Commercial Concerns The journal owner, publisher and any other political or commercial factors do not influence the editors' independent decision-making. Conflicts of interest Editors; It guarantees that the publication process of the studies is completed independently and impartially, taking into account conflicts of interest between the author(s), referees and other editors. Ethical Responsibilities of Referees The evaluation of all studies by "Blind Refereeing" directly affects the quality of the publication. This process provides confidence through objective and independent evaluation of the publication. The evaluation process of the Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy is carried out on the principle of double-blind refereeing. Referees cannot contact the authors directly, evaluation and comments are submitted through the journal management system. In this process, review forms and referee comments on full texts are forwarded to the author(s) through the editor. In this context, referees who evaluate studies for the Journal of International Relations and Diplomacy are expected to have the following ethical responsibilities: Only studies related to their field of expertise should be accepted for evaluation. The evaluation must be impartial and confidential. If he thinks that he is faced with a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, he should refuse to review the study and inform the journal editor. In accordance with the principle of confidentiality, they must destroy the studies they have examined after the evaluation process. They may only use the final versions of the studies they review after they have been published. The evaluation should be made objectively only in relation to the content of the study. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial considerations are not allowed to influence the evaluation. should not give.
