In this article, the role and effectiveness of the
curriculum of Arabic teaching programs based on 4-levels system (beginning,
elementary, intermediate and advanced) applied in the Prep Classes of the
Faculty of Theology of Istanbul University during the 2013-2014 academic year
will be examined and evaluated relating on the concrete data.
The article consists of an introduction, three
chapters and a conclusion. At the introduction, information was given about the
linguistic phenomenon and the basic factors affecting language teaching. In the
first chapter, general information about language teaching in Turkey is given.
In the second chapter, the language teaching activities conducted in the
preparatory classes of Istanbul University Faculty of Theology were evaluated
within the context of the factors affecting language teaching skills. In the
third chapter, Arabic teaching in the 2013-2014 academic year in the
preparatory classes of the same faculty as well as the positive and negative
aspects of the curriculum are evaluated.
In the conclusion section, the conclusions reached by
the study are listed.
