Honey as Important Food for Human Health

Abstract

 In this review article, generally the importance of honey in human health has been discussed. Honey in our nutrition, antimicrobial effects on micro-organisms and antioxidative effects, benefits on gastrointestinal system and nervous system, application of medical treatment of eye, teeth and skin diseases and effects on cancer and tumor cells have been emphasized.

Abstract

 Bu derlemede, genel olarak balın insan sağlığındaki yeri ve öneminden bahsedilmiştir. Balın beslenmemizdeki yeri, mikroorganizmalar üzerine antimikrobiyal etkisi, antioksidatif etkisi, sindirim ve sinir sistemine sağlamış olduğu yararlar, göz, diş ve deri hastalıklarının tedavisinde kullanımı ile ayrıca kanser ve tümör hücrelerine karşı olumlu etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur.
