Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

PUBLICATION GUIDELINES
· Uludağ University the Review of the Faculty of Theology is published by the Uludağ University Faculty of Theology.
· UURFT is an academic journal that is published two times a year as of June and December; this also is a national academic journal in which pre-assessment, plagiarism and blind review processes are conducted.
· Academic studies that are in ‘research article’ ‘research note’ ‘book evaluation’ ‘scientific meeting evaluation’ categories in religious studies are published in UURFT.
· UURFT is published two times a year as of June and December; our journal cares to adhere to the publication period. It is expected of texts that are in ‘research article’ category to be published 3 months before the publication date of the journal. It is possible for texts in other categories to be sent up to 45 days before publication. Besides, it is recommended that announcements of journal on acception date of articles should be followed. Articles whose editorial review periods and arbitration are incomplete are postponed to the next issue.
· All the texts that are sent to UURFT are put to plagiarism test and also controlled for compliance with journal writing rules.
· Texts that are pre-controlled to get into the pre-evaluation process by field editors in the relevant field. Pre-evaluation period takes a maximum of 10 days. Writings that are confirmed are sent to two professional journal referees.
· The article is published in case of being referee reports positive. A new referee can be assigned if reports of referees are not perceived as persuasive by editorial board. In case of one of the referees gives negative opinion an d if edititorial board is agree, then article wiould be sent to the third referee. It is decided whether the text will be published or not with reference to the report of the third referee only if the editorial board agree on publishing the text. The approved text is published in issue according topublication order.
· Only the texts that are research article and translated articles are included to peer review process. Referee’s review process is 15 days for each referee. This period can be extended for two times as 7-day periods if required.
· All the texts are included to editorial reading process. This process, can vary by extension of the text and necessity for transliteration, is at least 10 days for each of texts.
· Articles in Turkish, Arabic and English languages are accepted by UURFT. Maximum two articles in a foreign language are published in an issue.
· Maximum two texts (including multi-author studies) belong to the same author are published in an issue of UURFT.
· Members of Editorial board are subjectted to the publication process that is valid for everybody in both research article and other categories. They cannot participate in Editorial Board Meetings in which their own texts are discussed; they also cannot interfere to peer- review process of their own texts.
· All or a part of the texts that are sent to UURFT should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication.
· Articles produced from postgraduate theses and also papers presented at scientific meetings and unpublished can be published in UURFT. In these kinds of cases , the journal must be informed at the first delivery stage of the text; the informations belong to paper or dissertation also should be written in the first footnote after peer review process is complated succesfully.
· The final listing order of approved texts in related issue and category is specified by Editorial Board. There is no certain listing method except ‘1. Research articles 2. Translation/Research note 3. Scientific meeting assessment 4. Book Introduction 5. Note of loyalty’.
· Since texts are evaluated by using double- blind reviewing system, author’s name and identity information or information deciphering the author’s name and identity must not be mentioned on the paper. Informations about the author or authors are added to approved papers by editors, considering author information form prepared by the article owners.
· UURFT stipulatess to be used İSNAD Citation Style Citation Style (Second Edition) at footnotes and bibliography. Articles not written according to ISNAD Citation Style (Second Edition) will not be evaluated.
· Transliteration method offered by İSNAD Citation Style is used at UURFT. Therefore, transliteration of texts must be done as described in İSNAD Citation Style website. Otherwise, the text will not be evaluated.
· UURFT is published firstly as electronic journal; then it is printed as hard copy. A copy of whole journal is sent to authors.
· Copyrights of approved text belongs to the journal.
· Any fee is not demanded from authors.
· UURFT is an open-acces and free academic journal.
· UURFT has right to publish special issues. All the texts within the special issue are subject to general publication principle and processes.
