Abstract

It is important to carry out the design process by having data on the relationship between the user and the designed space. In this process, decisions regarding ergonomics come to the fore in the design process. In addition to anthropometric data, factors such as the purpose of using the space should also be considered in order to facilitate the use of space psychologically and physiologically. The aim of the research is to examine the ergonomics factor in the design of canteens, which are among the common areas of faculties located on the campus of Eskişehir Technical University. The research was designed as a case study, one of the qualitative research methods, and the data collected within the scope of the study were analyzed with a holistic single case study. The purpose of use of the faculty canteen areas in the campus and the lighting, air conditioning and environmental factors were analyzed in relation to them. It has been determined that these places are used for different purposes, including eating and drinking activities, as well as resting, working, socializing and circulation. In the design process of canteen areas, the necessity of reviewing the decisions taken in order to construct ergonomic and functional spaces has come to the fore.

Ortak Kullanım Alanı Olarak Fakülte Yeme İçme Mekanları Tasarımında Ergonomi: Eskişehir Teknik Üniversitesi Örneği

Abstract

Kullanıcı ve kullanıcının tasarlanan mekan ile olan ilişkisine dair verilere sahip olarak tasarım sürecinin yürütülmesi önemlidir. Bu süreçte, ergonomiye ilişkin kararlar tasarım sürecinde ön plana çıkmaktadır. Antropometrik verilerin yanında, mekanı kullanım amaçları gibi etkenler de mekan kullanımını psikolojik ve fizyolojik olarak kolaylaştırmak adına ele alınmalıdır. Araştırmada, Eskişehir Teknik Üniversitesi kampüsü içerisinde bulunan fakültelerin ortak kullanım alanlarından kantinlerinin tasarımında ergonomi faktörünün incelenmesidir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması olarak desenlenmiş olup, bütüncül tek durum deseni ile çalışma kapsamında toplanan veriler analiz edilmiştir. Kampüs içerisinde yer alan fakülte kantin alanlarının kullanım amaçları ile aydınlatma, iklimlendirme ve çevresel faktörler ilişkili olarak analiz edilmiştir. Bu mekanların yeme içme eylemlerinin yanında dinlenme, çalışma, sosyalleşme ve dolaşım dahil olmak üzere farklı amaçlarla kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Kantin alanlarının tasarım sürecinde ergonomik ve işlevsel mekanlar kurgulamak adına alınan kararların gözden geçilmesinin gerekliliği ön plana çıkmıştır.
