Erken Okuryazarlık Becerilerinin Gelişiminde Bilgi ve İletişim Teknolojileri Kullanımı

Year 2022, Volume: 2 Issue: 3, 385 - 398, 27.12.2022

Abstract

Use of Information and Communication Technologies in the Development of Early Literacy Skills

Year 2022, Volume: 2 Issue: 3, 385 - 398, 27.12.2022

Abstract

In the rapidly developing world, information and communication technologies have become an important part of educational processes as they are used in every field. In the preschool education period, information and communication technologies and educational practices have differentiated and this situation has offered new opportunities to teachers. It is known that information and communication technologies have a positive effect on the development of early literacy skills, especially when they are used appropriately and correctly. From this point of view, this study aims to provide information about the positive and negative aspects of the use of information and communication technologies in learning environments, the standards and principles that should be followed, and the information and communication technologies that can be used in the development of early literacy skills, to create discussion and to support the correct use. For this purpose, various publications and research results were compiled from the literature and positive and negative opinions were discussed. By listing the standards and principles that will ensure the correct use of information and communication technologies to support the development of early literacy skills, the characteristics of technologies such as audio and e-books, computers, video, online publications are explained and their place in the development of children's early literacy skills is emphasised.
