Adölesanlarda Sosyal Medya Kullanım Amaçları ve Bağımlılığının Fiziksel Aktivite, Beslenme, Stres Yönetimi ve Kişilerarası İletişim Üzerine Etkisinin Belirlenmesi

Öz

Amaç: Çalışma adölesanlarda sosyal medya kullanım amaçları ve bağımlılığının sağlıklı yaşam tarzları üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Gereç ve Yöntem: Kesitsel ve ilişki arayıcı desenden planlanan çalışmanın evrenini, çalışmanın yürütüldüğü il merkezinde bulunan 14-18 yaş grubundaki adölesanlar, örneklemini; ebeveyn izni olan, araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan, anket sorularına yanıt veren adölesanlar oluşturmuştur. Çalışma için kartopu örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Ebeveyn ve adölesan gönüllü olur formları onaylanmayan 57 yanıt çalışma dışı bırakılmış, toplamda 934 katılımcının yanıtları çalışmaya alınmıştır. Veri değerlendirmesinde ortalama, standart sapma, sayı, yüzde, ANOVA ve çok değişkenli regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Bulgular: Sosyal medya kullanım amaçlarının, fiziksel aktivite düzeyine, kişilerarası iletişim biçimine, stres yönetimi şekline pozitif yönde, sağlıklı beslenme düzeyine ise negatif yönde etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Sosyal medya bağımlılığının sağlıklı yaşam tarzı boyutlarından fiziksel aktivite düzeyine, kişilerarası iletişim biçimine, stres yönetimi şekline ve sağlıklı beslenme düzeyine negatif yönde etkisinin olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Hemşireler eğitim ve danışmanlık rolleri kapsamında; en ideal sosyal medya kullanımı, medya okuryazarlığı, internet tarama araçlarının kullanımı konusunda adölesan ve ebeveynlere eğitim vermeli, bireyleri desteklemelidir.

Determination of the Effects of Social Media Use Purposes and Addiction on Physical Activity, Nutrition, Stress Management and Interpersonal Relationships in Adolescents

Öz

Aim: The study was conducted in order to determine the effect of social media usage purposes and addiction on healthy lifestyles in adolescents. Methods: The universe of the study planned from a cross-sectional and relationship-seeking pattern was composed of adolescents in the 14-18 age group located in the city center where the study was conducted, adolescents with parental permission, who volunteered to participate in the study, and who answered survey questions. The snowball sampling method was used for the study. 57 responses that were not approved by parent and adolescent volunteer forms were excluded from the study, and the responses of 934 participants were taken into the study in total. Mean, standard deviation, number, percentage, ANOVA and multivariate regression analysis were used in the data evaluation. Results: It has been found that social media addiction has a negative impact on the level of physical activity from healthy lifestyle dimensions, interpersonal communication style, stress management style and healthy nutrition level. It has been found that the purposes of using social media have a positive effect on the level of physical activity, the form of interpersonal communication, the form of stress management, and a negative effect on the level of healthy nutrition. Conclusion: Nurses should provide education to adolescents and parents about healthy and optimal social media use, media literacy, the use of screening tools, and support individuals within the scope of their training and counseling roles.
