The aim of this research is to evaluate the perspectives of students studying in social work in Konya about the social work profession and education. The phenomenology design of the qualitative research method was used in the research. The research was conducted at three different universities and with 27 participants. The data were obtained with a semi-structured interview form, which was prepared by the researchers and consisted of open-ended questions. Descriptive analysis technique was preferred in the analysis of the data. Thoughts on the social work profession and education are divided into three main themes: "past", "present" and "future". While the expressions of the participants about the past and the future are positive, it can be said that their thoughts about the present are negative. Social work has been compared to a rare flower in the past. Today, although its value is increasing, it is stated that the quality problem has arisen with the increase in the number of graduates and schools. In addition, it is stated that it will be a discipline that will gain more importance in the future.
Bu araştırmanın amacı Konya’da sosyal hizmet bölümlerinde eğitim gören öğrencilerin sosyal hizmet mesleği ve eğitimine yönelik bakış açılarını incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma metodunun olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma üç farklı üniversitede ve 27 katılımcı ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler araştırmalar tarafından hazırlanan ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Sosyal hizmet mesleği ve eğitimine ilişkin düşünceler “geçmiş”, “bugün” ve “gelecek” olmak üzere üç ana temaya ayrılmıştır. Katılımcıların geçmiş ve gelecekle ilgili ifadeleri olumlu iken bugüne ilişkin düşüncelerinin olumsuz olduğu söylenebilir. Sosyal hizmet geçmişte ender bulunan bir çiçeğe benzetilmektedir. Günümüzde ise değeri artmakla birlikte mezun ve okul sayısının artışı ile birlikte nitelik sorununun ortaya çıktığı belirtilmektedir. Ek olarak gelecekte ise daha da önem kazanan bir disiplin olacağı ifade edilmektedir.
