ŞÂHNÂME’DE YER ALAN ZIRH, MİĞFER VE KALKAN İLE İLGİLİ KAYITLAR

Abstract

Ortaçağ’da İran coğrafyasında yazılan Şâhnâme, savaş teçhizatları ile ilgili birçok terim barındırmaktadır. Araştırmamızın amacı eserde bulunan zırh, miğfer ve kalkan ile ilgili terimleri açıklığa kavuşturmaktır. Çalışmada zırhı belirtmek için kullanılan kelimeler, zırh çeşitleri ve zırhı kullanan kişilerden bahsedilmektedir. Başka bir başlık altında kaynakta bulunan miğfer ile ilgili terimlere değinilmektedir. Diğer bir konu olarak Şâhnâme’de bulunan kalkan çeşitleri, hükümdarlara ait kalkanlar gibi bahisler işlenmektedir. Çalışmanın sonuçları arasında Ortaçağ’da İran coğrafyasında birçok silah kültür havzasına ait teçhizatın kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Antik dönemde İran’da kullanılan savaş malzemelerinden Ortaçağ’da da aktif bir şekilde yararlanıldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışmayla birlikte eserin daha iyi anlaşılması ümit edilmektedir.

THE RECORDS OF THE ARMOUR, HELMET AND SHIELD IN THE SHĀHNĀMA

Abstract

The Shāhnāma, written in Iran geography in the Middle Ages, contains many terms related to war equipment. The aim of our research is to clarify the terms related to armour, helmet and shield in the work. In the study, the words used to indicate the armour, the types of armour and the people who use the armour are mentioned. Under another heading, the terms related to the helmet in the source are mentioned. As another subject, issues such as shield types in Shāhnāma and shields belonging to rulers are discussed. Among the results of the study, it has determined that equipment belonging to many arm culture basins was used in Iran in the Middle Ages. It is understood that the war materials used in ancient Iran were also actively used in the Middle Ages. With this study, it is hoped that the source will be better understood.
