On Some of the Theological Concepts and the Problem of Religious-Secular Authority;Luther-Calvin

Abstract

This article focuses on Martin Luther and Jean Calvin’s opinions related to God, faith, destiny, religious and political authority. It is also examined and evaluated the reflections of their viewpoints up today. With the movement of Protestantism it has occurded radical changes in the political field, and rooted in the theological and breakpoint. According to the religious scholars who mentioned above there are two regimes can be defined have different functions and established by God. One of them is entitled ‘the secular regime’, was established in order to assure the rights and order in society. It uses the sword. The other one can be called The Spiritual Regime uses the only word. That’s why no one has right to resistance to the secular administration. For this reason I believe that it has to be examined the meaning of power that has been determined the future with the discourse of the new world order dealing with the international religion-state and politic relations.

TEOLOJİK BAZI KAVRAMLAR VE DİNSEL-SEKÜLER OTORİTE SORUNU ÜZERİNE: LUTHER-CALVİN

Öz

Bu makalede Martin Luther ve Jean Calvin’in Tanrı, iman, kader, dinsel ve seküler otorite anlayışı gibi konulardaki görüşleri ve bunların günümüz dünyasına olan yansımaları değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır. Protestanlık hareketiyle beraber Hıristiyanlık tarihinin seyrinde gerek teolojik ve gerekse siyasal alanda radikal denebilecek köklü değişimler ve kırılma noktaları meydana gelmiştir. Bu din âlimlerine göre Tanrı tarafından kurulmuş fakat farklı işlevlere sahip iki rejimden söz edilebilir. Bunlardan birincisi olan ‘seküler’, toplumda hak ve düzeni temin etmek amacıyla kurulmuştur ve kılıç kullanır. Diğeri ise ‘ruhani rejim’dir ve sözü kullanır. Dolayısıyla Luther ve Calvin’e göre hiç kimse seküler rejime karşı koyma hakkına sahip değildir. Bu nedenle geleceği belirleyen ‘gücün’ anlamını yenidünya düzeni söylemi ekseninde günümüze yansıması ve uluslar arası din-devlet-siyaset ilişkilerini de dikkate alarak etraflıca irdelenmesi gerektiğine inanıyorum.
