Attitude and Expectations of CandidateVisul Arts Teachers’ Towards Teaching Process of Photography Course

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to presentattitude and expectations of candidate educators towards photography course by the extent of teaching process, and curriculum. Furthermore, research aims to determine scientific level of the course in terms of teaching process dimension only. Photography is an undergradute level course in art education departments Nine universities that are under the roof of YÖK were contacted in order to achieve this aim. Art education departments’ universe, independently selected departments from abovementioned 9 departments form the sample of the research. The demographic information about the students that participating the research are presented in the form of percentage and frequency tables. Results from the research’ smeasurement tool, surveyed with using “t” test and one way variance test and also non-parametric tests of “Mann Whitney U” and “KruskalWalls” if may differ according to independent variables such as gender, university, department, studio and course. SPSS 15 and ITEMAN software utilized analysing the data that used in the research process. As a result of research, the reaction of the measuring instrument, a significant difference was observed in terms of gender. Therefore, the visual arts educator candidates who attended the photography course in art education department, displayed significant difference in their attitude and expectations of the students towards university, department studio and course level. It can be argued that the students are not satisfied with the over all sense of competence of the photography class.

Görsel Sanatlar Öğretmeni Adaylarının Fotoğraf Dersinin İşlenişine İlişkin Tutum ve Beklentileri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada amaçlanan, Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dallarında, lisans düzeyinde fotoğraf dersini alan öğretmen adaylarının, dersin işlenişine, müfredatı ve kapsamına ilişkin tutumları ile beklentilerini ortaya koymak ve sadece ders işlenişi boyutunu dikkate alarak, Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dallarındaki fotoğraf derslerinin bilimsellik seviyesini belirlemektir. Bu amaca ulaşabilmek için YÖK çatısı altında faaliyet göstermekte olan 9 üniversite ile irtibata geçilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümleri, örneklemini ise seçkisiz yöntem ile belirlenmiş 9 üniversiteye ait Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya dahil olan öğrencilere ilişkin demografik bilgiler tablo halinde yüzde ve frekans olarak sunulmuştur. Uygulanan ölçme aracından alınan sonuçların cinsiyet, üniversite, anasanat atölye türü ve sınıf gibi bağımsız değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediği hem bağımsız örneklemler testi için (t) testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi, hem de non parametrik testlerden Mann Whitney U testi ve KruskalWalls testleri ile ölçülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde yüzde, frekans, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma istatistikleri değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde elde edilen verilerin çözümlemeleri için SPSS 15 ve ITEMAN paket yazılımlarından faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, uygulanan ölçme aracına verilen tepkilerde, cinsiyet bakımından anlamlı bir fark olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalları’nda fotoğraf dersini alan görsel sanatlar öğretmeni adaylarının, fotoğraf derslerinin işlenişine ilişkin tutum ve beklentilerinin üniversite, anasanat atölye ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenlerine göre farklılık gösterdiği görülmüştür. Fotoğraf dersini alan öğrencilerin, genel manada ders işlenişinin yetkinliğinden memnun olmadığı söylenebilir.
