The Social Basis of Religious Education at the Schools and its Functions

Abstract

Reaching religious education in a healthy way depends on identifying and clarifying the theoretical foundations of the teaching of religion. One of the most important elements which constitute the theory of religious education at the schools is its social basis. With respect to the functional approach which we take as a model in our paper the institutions can only continue to live as long as they serve for the community and meet the needs of them. Religion continuously leads its existence in the social institutions. Religion is known in our country to be the most important factor in achieving and protecting the national unity and togetherness as well as contributing the social peace and giving the social moral and value. Religious education serves as an important function from the standpoint of carrying out these issues.

Okulda Din Öğretiminin Toplumsal Temeli ve İşlevleri

Abstract

Okulda sağlıklı bir din öğretimine ulaşılabilmesi, din öğretiminin teorik temellerinin belirlenmesi ve açıklığa kavuşmasına bağlıdır. Okulda din öğretiminin en önemli teorik temellerinden biri toplumsal temeldir. Çalışmamızda model aldığımız fonksiyonel yaklaşıma göre kurumlar toplumda bir işlev gördüğü ve toplumsal ihtiyaçları karşıladığı sürece varlıklarını devam ettirmektedirler. Din, toplumsal kurumlar içinde varlığını sürekli devam ettirmektedir. Ülkemizde din, milli birlik ve beraberliğin sağlanıp korunmasında, toplumsal barışa katkı sağlamada, sosyal ahlak ve değerlerin verilmesinde en önemli unsur olarak durmaktadır. Din öğretimi, dinin bu fonksiyonlarını sağlıklı şekilde yerine getirmesi açısında çok önemli bir görev yapmaktadır.
