SAĞLIK ALANINDA EĞİTİM GÖREN ÖĞRENCİLERİN COVİD-19 KORKU DÜZEYLERİNİN VE AŞIYA YÖNELİK TUTUMLARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Year 2022, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 51 - 61, 30.04.2022

Abstract

DETERMINATION OF THE COVID-19 FEAR LEVELS AND THEIR ATTITUDES TO THE VACCINE OF HEALTH STUDENTS

Year 2022, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 51 - 61, 30.04.2022

Abstract

This descriptive type of research was carried out to determine the covid-19 fear levels and attitudes towards vaccination of students at a university's vocational school of health services. In the study, which was conducted with the participation of 707 students (82.3%), the Covid-19 Fear Scale and the Attitudes Towards Covid-19 Vaccine Scale were used. The data were analyzed with the SPSS25 program. The Covid-19 Fear scale score of the participants was determined as 19.91±7,03, and the Attitudes Towards the Covid-19 Vaccine Scale score was determined as 2,94±6,23. When the Covid-19 Fear scale score was analyzed on the basis of gender, it was seen that the score of female participants (x ̅=20,82) was higher than the score of male participants (x ̅=17,41). When the scores obtained from both scales were examined according to the presence of chronic disease, it was determined that the scores of those with chronic disease were higher. There was a weak negative correlation between the fear of Covid-19 and the attitude towards the Covid-19 vaccine (r=-0,097; p=0,010) This study will contribute to the design of programs to help future health workers engage in health-protective behaviors, and to develop new strategies to address the concerns raised by the use of vaccines to control the spread of the pandemic in society.
