Along with the globalization process, world countries have gained momentum
in their own economies by attaching great importance to commercial and financial
liberalization applications. As a result, the existence of environmenteconomy
relation has been mentioned in recent years. In this context, the
existence of dynamic relationships between financial openness, commercial
openness, per capita income and carbon dioxide absorption (CO2) variables
using annual data for the period 1970-2015 for Turkey investigated with the
aid of VAR model. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that 0,46% of the
change in CO2 absorption explained by financial openness, 1,04% by per capita
income and 0,42% by trade openness.
