The town is an indicator of community life. The way of life, mentality and traditions of the society ensoul in the town. This spirit reflects to literary works via aesthetic imagination of poets. In the classical Turkish literature, Şehrengîz was written up to praise beautifuls and beauties of a town. It is seen that different forms of poetry such as gazel, kaside, continental rubai, which depict the cities, and poets in the couplets depict the city's natural beauties, architectural Works and events, apart from the Şehrengîz ones, the most of which were written in masnavi form. İstanbul, which has an important place in classical Turkish poetry, appears in poetry with the depictions of Baki and Nedim. Nedim in the 18th century is like updating Baki, who expressed all the features of the period of Kanuni in the 16th century in his poetry in Istanbul. Nedim, looking at Istanbul from where Baki looks, expresses Istanbul and the “Lale Devri” in detail in the poem. Especially in Istanbul Kasida, changing the form of the town, making the town praise, depicting Istanbul with a narrative based on the demonstration technique, takes the reader to the mysterious type that exists in the tradition. In this article, the style of expressing İstanbul 16th. century Classical Turkish poet Baki and Nedim one of the poets of the 18th. century will bring out in their poems. In this context, the presentation of İstanbul was examined in the poems, It was tried to be determined that the way the town is treated as monographic and aesthetic value.
