Abstract
Although adequate and balanced nutrition is important for everyone in every period, it is one of the main factors that negatively affect the quality of life of individuals with insufficient nutritional knowledge and the performance of athletes. Adequate nutrition is directly proportional to conscious nutrition and good nutritional information. In the light of the information about the nutrition information of the students studying in the field of sports, although there are some studies, the aim of this study, which is to contribute from a different perspective to the studies that measure the nutrition information of the students who do active sports and continue their education, from a different perspective. and to evaluate the sports nutrition knowledge levels of students who do and do not do active sports in different branches according to the sports branch they do (team or individual). Data were collected from 339 students within the scope of the study. Statistical analysis of the data was made in SPSS 26 statistical package program. As a data collection tool, the Sports Nutrition Knowledge Scale, which Çırak and Çakıroğlu (2019) adapted into Turkish, was used. Frequency and percentage values of the obtained data were calculated. As a result, the knowledge of sports science students who do active sports is not at the desired level, have partially incomplete information and have faulty eating habits. It has been concluded that most of them do not give enough importance to their nutrition even if they do not do active sports. As a result, it is thought that students and active athletes should receive academic and scientific support in order to increase their nutritional knowledge and gain correct eating habits.
