A. Basic Principles of the Writing Guidelines
Please write your article using the journal's official template Word document; files uploaded using a different template will not be taken into consideration.
1. The publication language of the journal is Turkish. However, works written in English may also be published. The latest edition of the TDK (Turkish Language Association) Spelling Guide is used as the basis for spelling, punctuation, and abbreviations. Submitted manuscripts must meet scientific standards of language and expression and must be clear and understandable.
2. Manuscripts submitted for publication, including abstracts and the reference list, must not exceed 25 pages.
3. At the beginning of the article there must be an abstract of no more than 250 words — including the Turkish and English article titles — together with five keywords in both Turkish and English.
4. The author's name should be centered, italic, bold, 11 pt; the author's title, affiliation, and e-mail address should be given in a footnote marked with (*), in 9 pt. Footnotes for other explanations should be numbered within the text and given at the bottom of the page.
5. The typeface should be Times New Roman, 11 pt, with single line spacing; footnotes should be 9 pt and single-spaced.
6. Page numbers must not be used in articles.
7. Articles that are not formatted in accordance with the Publication Principles of the Ankara International Journal of Social Sciences will not be considered for evaluation.
B. Principles of Page Layout
1. Paragraph formatting: first-line indent 1 cm, paragraph spacing 3 pt before / 3 pt after, justified alignment, single line spacing.
2. Page layout should be normal; page setup: top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 2.5 cm, right 2.5 cm, gutter 0, header 1.25 cm, footer 1.25 cm.
3. Subheadings should align with the heading preceding them. Only the first letter of a subheading should be capitalized.
C. Principles for Citing Sources in Footnotes
1. References shall be given as footnotes, numbered at the bottom of the page, in AUSBD.
2. The full identifying details of the cited source must be given; works that are not cited in the text may not appear in the reference list.
3. For repeated citations of the same source, use the abbreviations “a.g.e.” (ibid., for books), “a.g.m.” (op. cit., for articles), “a.g.t.” (for theses), and “Aynı yer” (same place, for the same page).
D. Principles for the Reference List
1. In the reference list, the author's surname should be given first, followed by the first name.
2. Sources should be listed in alphabetical order.
3. Page numbers must be given in full in articles.

Reference List Examples
The reference list must begin on a new page at the end of the article and be written in 9 pt; only sources cited in the text should be included, listed alphabetically by the author's surname.
