Abstract
He is an environmental historian of the Ottoman Empire, with a geographical focus on its eastern provinces in Anatolia and Iraq. He wrote his master thesis in Yale University, and then he continued his Ph.D. in at Georgetown University.
His first book “Rivers of the Sultan: The Tigris and Euphrates in the Ottoman Empire” was published by “Oxford University Press” in 2021. In addition to this, Timaş Publishing translated this book into Turkish in 2023.
Faisal Husain was in Kırşehir between 18-20 May. He gave us an interview, and we explore the neighborhood with him. We traveled to Hacıbektaş, Kapadokya and Avanos.

Abstract
Osmanlı çevre tarihinin önemli isimlerinden olan Faisal Husain ile çevre tarihi üzerine detaylıca konuştuk. Çevre tarihinin dünya üzerindeki gelişiminden, Osmanlı çevre tarihinin gittikçe popülerleşmesinin sebepleri ve de sonuçları üzerinden konuştuk. Çevre tarihi alanına yönelmesindeki sebepleri üzerine sorular sorduk. Çalışamalarından ve de çalışmayı düşündüğü ve ilgilendiği konular da röportajın ana konularından oldu.
