A COMPARISON OF PWM AND HYSTERESIS BAND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BRUSHLESS DC MOTORS

Abstract

Brushless DC Motors (BLDCs) are widely used at high-performance control systems depending on developments in power electronics and control technology. These motors are electronically switched that makes position control oscillation free and it is a desirable situation. The main aim of BLDC control methods is built on controlling the motor effectively. To accomplish this, there are different available work structures. In this study, PWM control method of hysteresis band control, torque control, speed control aspects comparison has been done with Matlab ® / Simulink ® software environment. Observation shows that the controller which has been designed in this study has less oscillation and a fast dynamic response.
