Inventory Classification In Metal Sector With Fuzzy ABC-VED Analysis

Abstract

Stock refers to the raw materials, semi-finished products, products or assets they hold in their
warehouses in order to continue production and service activities. Although it is important to have stock
for the continuity of the company's activities, it is undesirable for companies to lose their opportunities
due to the fact that their resources are connected to the stock. This situation necessitates the classification
of inventories according to various parameters and establishment of stock control policies according to
the importance of stocks in firms. In this study, ABC and VED (vital, essential and desirable) analyzes
were used for stock classification. Fuzzy ABC-VED approach was developed by using fuzzy logic
decision rules in the integration of ABC and VED analysis results. In establishing fuzzy logic decision
rules, classes in classes ABC (A, B and C) are divided into three categories and the sensitivity of the
evaluations has been increased. The approach developed in the study was implemented in a company
operating in the metal sector and the results of the application were included in the study.

BULANIK ABC-VED ANALİZİ İLE METAL SEKTÖRÜNDE STOK SINIFLANDIRMASI

Abstract

Stok, firmaların üretim ve hizmet faaliyetlerine devam edebilmek için depolarında bulundurdukları
hammadde, yarı mamul, mamul ya da varlıkları ifade etmektedir. Firma faaliyetlerinin devamlılığı için
stok bulundurulması önemli olsa da firma kaynaklarının stoka bağlanması dolayısıyla fırsat kayıplarının
yaşanması istenmeyen bir durumdur. Bu durum firmalarda stokların çeşitli parametrelere göre
sınıflandırılmasını ve stokların önem seviyesine göre stok kontrol politikalarının oluşturulmasını gerekli
kılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada stok sınıflandırmasında ABC ve VED (vital, essential and desirable) analizleri
kullanılmıştır. ABC ve VED analiz sonuçlarının entegrasyonunda bulanık mantık karar kurallarından
faydalanılarak bulanık ABC-VED yaklaşımı geliştirilmiştir. Bulanık mantık karar kuralları oluşturulurken
ABC sınıfında yer alan sınıflar (A, B ve C) da kendi içinde üç kategoriye ayrılarak değerlendirmelerin
hassasiyeti arttırılmıştır. Çalışmada geliştirilen yaklaşım metal sektöründe faaliyet gösteren bir firmada
uygulanmış ve uygulama sonuçlarına çalışmada yer verilmiştir.
