Abstract
Medical terminology has been formed in a few thousands of years. Being different in structure from the daily language is an important feature of medical terminology. Recently, the language of medical education has been a matter of debate. This study is prepared in order to discuss the basic structure of medical terminology, its international historical development and also its situation for now and the future. The effects of the growing influence of English have further been discussed.
Abstract
Tıbbî terminoloji binlerce yıl içinde şekillenmiştir. Önemli bir özelliği konuşma dilinden farklı bir yapıda olmasıdır. Günümüzde tıp eğitimi dilinin nasıl olması gerektiği tartışma konusu olmaktadır. Bu çalışma, tıp eğitiminde kullanılan dilin temel özelliklerinin, uluslar arası alandaki tarihsel gelişiminin ortaya konulmasını, günümüzde ve yakın gelecekteki durumunun tartışılmasını amaçlayarak hazırlanmıştır. İngilizce'nin giderek artan baskısının tıp alanındaki etkileri de irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır.
