Abstract

Pek çok hastalığa zemin hazırlayan önemli bir faktör olan stresin neden olduğu hastalıklardan birisi gastrik ülserdir. Son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalarda stres ülserlerinin hem beyin hem de gastrointestinal sistemde bulunan nöropeptidlerle ilişkili olduğu ileri sürülmektedir. Mekanizması tam olarak aydınlatılmamış olmasına rağmen stres ülser patogenezinin multifaktöriyel olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Gastrik asit salgısını ve motiliteyi azaltıcı, mukus salgısını ve gastrik kan akımını arttırıcı etkiye sahip olan çeşitli nöropeptidler bulunmaktadır. Bu etkilere sahip nöropeptidlerin stres ülseri oluşumunun ve gelişiminin önlenmesinde önemli rolleri olduğu düşünülmektedir.

The role of neuropeptides in stress ulcer pathogenesis

Abstract

Gastric ulcer is one of the diseases caused by stress, an important underlying factor for many diseases. In the studies that were conducted in recent years, it is suggested that there is a relationship between stress ulcers and neuropeptides, which are found both in the brain and the gastrointestinal system. Although, the pathological mechanism of stress ulcer is not clear, it is widely considered to be multi-factorial. There are various kinds of neuropeptides which can cause a decrease in gastric acid secretion and motility, and an increase in mucus secretion and gastric blood flow. Having these kind of effects, the neuropeptides are suggested to play an important role in preventing the occurance and development of stress ulcer.
