The Urinary Bladder Located Schistosomiasis

Abstract

Schistosomiasis is a parasitic infection affecting almost 200-250 million people in the world and 80 million people in the Middle East. In the ürogenital system, it is usually seen in the urinary bladder and more common in female than males. Our case is a 20 year-old Nygerian male patient. He admitted to the hospital with the complaint of intermittant gross haematuria. After his cystoscopic examination, the biopsy results revealed an aberrant schistosomial cysitis. So the case, because of its rarity ın our country, is presented in the light of literature

Mesane Yerleşimli Şistozomiazis

Abstract

Şistozomiazis dünyada 200-250 milyon insanı etkileyen ve Afrika ve Orta Doğu'da yaklaşık 80 milyon insanı enfekte eden parazitik bir enfeksiyondur. Ürogenital sistemde en sık mesane lokalizasyonunda izlenir ve bayanlarda erkeklere oranla daha yaygındır. Olgu 20 yaşında Nijerya uyruklu erkek hastadır. Aralıklı olarak devam eden makroskopik hematüri şikayeti nedeniyle başvurduğu üroloji polikliniğince alınan sistoskopik biyopsi sonucu şistozomal sistit olarak raporlandı. Ülkemizde son derece az görülmesi nedeniyle olgu literatür bilgileri eşliğinde sunulmuştur.
