Abstract

Claudius Amyand, fıtık kesesi içinde akut apandisit olması durumunu tanımladığı günden beri, bu durum Amyand herni olarak bilinir. Ayrıca bu literatürde bildirilen ilk apendektomidir. Bu durumun görülme oranı tüm akut apandisit olguları içinde % 0,13'tür. Preoperatif tanı neredeyse mümkün değildir. Ameliyat esnasında saptandığında fıtık kesisi üzerinden apendektomi tercih edilmelidir. Bu yazıda kliniğimizde opere edilen bir Amyand herni olgusu sunulmuş ve konuyla ilgili literatür bilgileri özetlenmiştir.

Amyand's Hernia

Abstract

Acute appendicitis in an inguinal hernia has been called as “Amyand's Hernia” since the day on which Claudius Amyand described the condition in the first appendectomy ever reported. The incidence of acute appendicitis in an inguinal hernia is 0,13 % of all cases with acute appendicitis. Preoperative diagnosis of this rare condition is almost impossible. When diagnosed in the operating room, appendectomy through herniotomy is the procedure of choice. We report a case with Amyand's hernia and review the literature.
