Isolated Renal Hydatid Cyst Presenting As a Liver Lesion

Abstract

The renal hydatid cyst is uncommon compared to that in the liver or lung. Kidney involvement represents 2-4% of all cases. Renal hydatid cysts can remain asymptomatic for many years and then be discovered incidentally. Ultrasound (USG) is considered as the primary imaging modality for the classification of different types of appearances. Computed tomography (CT) as an imaging modality is especially better than USG in the presence of a complicated cyst to show communication with intraabdominal organs. In some cases, the origin of lesion may not be cleared with CT Therefore, the result may be confusing as was in our patient. The treatment of isolated renal hydatid disease is surgery.

İzole Renal Kist Hidatik, Karaciğer Kist Hidatiği Görüntüsü Verebilir

Abstract

Renal kist hidatik, karaciğer veya akciğer kist hidatiğine göre daha nadir görülür. Böbrek tutulumu tüm vakaların %2-4'üdür. Renal kist hidatik yıllarca asemptomatik olarak kalabilir ve insidental olarak tanı konabilir. Ultrason kist hidatiğin tiplendirilmesi için primer görüntüleme yöntemidir. Bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT), komplike kist varlığında ve intraabdominal organlar ile ilişkisini göstermesi açısından ultrasona göre daha iyi bir görüntüleme yöntemidir. Bizim vakamızda olduğu gibi, BT ile lezyonun kaynağı net olarak belirlenemeyebilir ve tanı kargaşasına sebep olabilir. İzole renal kist hidatiğin tedavisi cerrahidir.
