Globalization and Health

Abstract

The term globalization, like world-wide economy, politics, culture, health, social life, etc.. represents a big change in many aspects. The increase in the number of forces such as technological developments, political influences, economic pressures, changing ideas, social and environmental issues influences globalization. Development of globalization has been taken in two different periods. In the first period with emphasis on international trade in goods agreement, while in the second period to more emphasis on trade in services was introduced. As a result, in the health sector, which is part of the service sector the fgobalizationmovement has been started. In this article the relationship between globalization and health, direct and indirect effects of globalization on health health service costs would be met by whom, health systems and policies, employment in the health sector, distribution of communication and technological developments were discussed.

Küreselleşme ve Sağlık

Abstract

Küreselleşme terimi, dünya çapında ekonomi, siyaset, kültür, sağlık, sosyal hayat, vb. birçok konuda büyük bir değişimi ifade etmektedir. Teknolojik gelişmeler, politik etkiler, ekonomik baskılar, değişen fikirler, sosyal ve çevresel sorunlardaki artış gibi çok sayıda itici ve zorlayıcı güç küreselleşmeyi etkilemektedir. Küreselleşmenin gelişimi iki farklı dönemde ele alınmıştır. Birinci dönemde uluslararası mal ticareti anlaşmalarına ağırlık verilirken, ikinci dönemde daha çok hizmet ticaretine ağırlık verilmeye başlanmıştır. Bunun sonucu olarak, hizmet sektörünün bir parçası olan sağlık sektöründe de küreselleşme hareketleri başlamıştır. Bu makalede küreselleşme ve sağlık arasındaki ilişkiler küreselleşmenin sağlığa direkt ve indirekt etkileri, sağlık hizmeti maliyetinin kim tarafından karşılanacağı, sağlık sistem ve politikaları, sağlık sektöründe istihdam, iletişim ve teknolojik gelişmelerin dağılımı gibi konular tartışılmaktadır.
