Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Nilüfer Halk Sağlığı Eğitim ve Araştırma Bölgesi'nde yaşayan 15-49 yaş evli kadınların aile planlaması yöntemi kullanımındaki değişiminin incelenmesidir. Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışmada, 2002-2009 yılları arasında, Bölgede aile planlaması yöntemi kullanımına ilişkin veriler karşılaştırılmıştır. Veriler Bölgenin yıllık raporlarından elde edilmiştir. İstatistik analizlerde ki-kare testi kullanılmıştır. Bölgedeki 15-49 yaş evli kadın sayısı 2002 yılında 3820 ve 2009 yılında 4274'tür. Changes in The Use Of Family Planning Method Use of Married Women Aged 15 - 49, Living in Nilufer Public Health Research and Training Area (2002 – 2009)

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the change in family planning (FP) method use of married women aged 15 - 49, living in Nilufer Public Health Research and Training Area. In this descriptive study FP method use data of the years 2002 and 2009 were compared. The data of the area were gained from the yearly reports of the area. Chi – square test was used for the statistical analysis. The number of married women aged 15 – 49 was 3820 in 2002 and 4274 in 2009. FP method use increased from 76.6% to 83.6% (p< 0.001). Coitus interruptus was the most used method both in 2002 and 2009 (39.2% in 2002 and 31.0% in 2009). Among women using a FP method 48.8 % in 2002 and 62.8 % in 2009 preferred modern methods (p< 0.001). In 2002 intrauterin device (21.6%) and in 2009 condom (22.1%) was the most favored modern method. In Nilufer Public Health Research and Training Area FP services are given by trained and experienced health personal. PF method use data of the area is higher than Turkey in general. When we compare the years 2002 and 2009 we see a favorable change in modern method use in the area. This change is probably due to services that are accessible and free of charge as well as continuous public education.
