Abstract

Since Cronin and Gerow began to use a silicone bag filled with silicone gel for breast augmentation, silicone gel breast implants have been widely used for over 50 years. There are several undesirable complications for this procedure. One of them is implant rupture. There are several studies focusing on implant rupture rates. The incidance is changing between %3.1-5.7. We present a case of a 30-year-old patient admitted to our department for bilateral breast augmentation procedure. During the placement of a 240 ml anatomic implant to the left breast, the implant ruptured. We believe that implant rupture during implant placement is a rare entity.

Yerleştirme Sırasında Gerçekleşen Meme İmplantı Rüptürü

Abstract

Cronin ve Gerow`un silikon jel ile doldurulmuş silikon torbaları meme büyütme amaçlı kullanmasından beri silikon jel implantlar 50 yıl boyunca yaygın olarak kullanıldı. Bu prosedür için çeşitli istenmeyen komplikasyonlar mevcuttur. Bunlardan bir tanesi de implant rüptürü-dür. İmplant rüptür oranları üzerine bir çok çalışma yapılmıştır. İnsidans %3.1 - 5.7 arasında değişmektedir. Kliniğimize bilateral meme büyütme amacı ile başvuran 30 yaşında kadın hasta sunmaktayız. 240 ml`lik anatomik implantın sol memeye yerleştirilmesi sırasında rüptürü gerçekleşmiştir. Bu durumun nadir görünen bir durum olduğu görüşündeyiz.
