Sacral Pressure Sore Reconstruction: Our Superior Gluteal Artery Perforator (SGAP) Flap Experience and Analylsis of 9 Cases

Abstract

Pressure sores are common conditions, particularly seen in bed-bound patients. There are various surgical methods described for pressure sore treatment. Superior gluteal artery perforator flap (SGAP) is one of these methods which has gained popularity in the recent years. The aim of our study is to share our SGAP flap experience and to analyze the outcomes of 9 SGAP flaps performed in our clinic. 6 male and 3 female patients were operated with a 2-15 months follow up time. Among 9 flaps performed in our clinic, a seroma formation was detected in one patient and was drained. One patient suffered from a healing problem in the donor site and in one patient a total flap failure was seen. We consider that SGAP flap is an useful option for sacral pressure sores due to its advantages and similar complication rates compared to other reconstruction options.

Sakral Bası Yarası Onarımı: Superior Gluteal Arter Perforatör (SGAP) Flebi Deneyimlerimiz ve 9 Vakanın Analizi

Abstract

Sakral bası yarası özellikle yatağa bağımlı hastalarda oluşan ve sık görülen bir durumdur. Bası yaralarının tedavisinde çeşitli cerrahi yöntem-ler tanımlanmıştır. Özellikle son yıllarda önem kazanmış superior gluteal arter perforatör flebi (SGAP) bu yöntemlerden birisidir. Çalışma-mızın amacı; kliniğimizde bası yarası onarımında kullandığımız superior gluteal arter perforatör (SGAP) flebi deneyimlerimizi paylaşmak ve uygulamış olduğumuz 9 flebin sonuçlarının incelenmesidir. 6 erkek, 3 kadın hasta ameliyat edilmiş ve 2-15 ay aralığında takip edilmiştir. Uygulamış olduğumuz 9 flebin birinde seroma gelişmiştir, bir flep verici alanında açılma olmuştur ve bir vakada tam flep kaybı meydana gelmiştir. Sakral bası yarası onarımında kullandığımız SGAP flebinin sahip olduğu avantajları ve diğer flep seçenekleriyle benzer kompli-kasyon oranlarına sahip olması nedeniyle bu bölgenin onarımında kullanılabilecek iyi bir seçenek olduğunu düşünmekteyiz.
