Mitral Balloon Valvuloplasty Application in Pregnant Women with Severe Mitral Stenosis

Abstract

Pregnant women with mitral stenosis may experience problems with their cardiovascular system especially in the second trimester of preg-nancy. This may endanger the lives of both mother and fetus. Balloon mitral valvuloplasty procedure is recently recommended in these patients. In this case report, a pregnant woman with left heart failure which had occured during the 26th week of pregnancy gave full term and trouble-free birth after successfully applied mitral balloon valvuloplasty.

Ciddi Mitral Darlığı Olan Gebe Kadında Mitral Balon Valvüloplasti Uygulaması

Abstract

Mitral darlığı olan gebeler gebeliğin özellikle ikinci trimesterinde kardiyovasküler sistemle ilgili sorunlar yaşayabilmekte ve bu durum anne ve fetus hayatının tehlikeye sokabilmektedir. Son zamanlarda bu olgularda mitral balon valvuloplasti işlemi yapılması önerilmektedir. Bu olgu sunumumuzda gebeliğinin 26. haftasında ciddi mitral darlığı (MVA:0.8 cm2) olan sol kalp yetmezliği gelişen bir gebede başarı ile uygulanmış mitral balon valvuloplasti sonrasında miadında ve sorunsuz doğum yapmış bir vaka sunulmuştur.
