Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is a chronic, systemic, inflammatory disease with usually symetric polyarticular involvement. In term of inade-quate therapies it leads to substantial morbidity and mortality. Last ten years, there are great developments in the etiopathogenesis and treat-ment of RA. Biologic agents starting with tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors and in recent years, B cell targeted therapies opened a new era in the treatment of patients with RA.

Abstract

Romatoid artrit (RA), sıklıkla simetrik poliartikuler tutulumla karakterize kronik, sistemik, inflamatuar bir hastalıktır. Uygun tedavi edilme-diği takdirde önemli ölçüde morbidite ve mortaliteye neden olabilir. Son on yılda RA etyopatogenezi ve tedavisinde büyük gelişmeler ya-şanmıştır. Tümör nekroz faktör alfa inhibitörleriyle başlayan biyolojik ajanlar ve yakın geçmişte B hücre hedefleyen ajanların kullanımı RA tedavisinde yeni bir çağ açmıştır.
