Abstract

Çalışmamızın amacı; geçtiğimiz 30 yıl boyunda mandibula rekonstrüksiyonu hakkında yapılmış yayınların incelenmesi, özellikle mandibula anterior segment rekonstrüksiyonu için yıllar içinde değişen serbest flep tercihlerinin ve tercih sebeplerinin incelenmesi, ayrıca kliniğimizde yapılmış bir olgunun sunulmasıdır. Çalışmamız sonucunda mandibula anterior segment rekonstürksiyonunda başlıca 4 flebin sıklıkla kulla-nıldığı görülmüştür. Bu flepler; fibula flebi, iliak flep, scapula flebi ve radial ön kol flebidir. Bu fleplerden iliak ve fibula flebi popülerliğini korumakta iken, radial ön kol ve skapula flebinin özellikle yumuşak doku komponenti ön planda olan doku defektlerinde kullanılabilir alternatifler haline geldiği görülmüştür.

Reconstruction of Mandibular Anterior Segment: Review of the Literature and a Case Report

Abstract

The aim of our study was to analyze the literature which were published in the last 30 years about mandible reconstruction. The trends of flap choice and the reasons of these choices were investigated as well. It was seen that 4 free flaps were mainly used; fibula flap, iliac flap, scapu-lar flap and radial forearm flap. Fibula flap and iliac flap have been maintained their popularity over the years, whereas radial forearm flap and scapular flap have become alternatives in case of complex defects where the soft tissue component is prominent.
