Senem Dance in Uyghur Folk Dances

Abstract

Senem dance that has a great importance in Uygur folk dances has often been experienced in such cultural activities as wedding ceremonies, feasts and meshreps (meeting and coming together) that attracts attention in terms of displaying those three types of art that are dance, music and literature and it has also been a research topic in that way. When the richness in Uygur folk dances is taken into consideration with regard to put out efficient studies as to the topic, each type of Senem dances, consisting of “Dolan” and “Kaşgarthat belong to two distinct areas in which those have been played from the past to present, has been analyzed in similar and different sides, choreographies, figures of dance and music.
