2017 yılı Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü tarafından “Vakıf Medeniyeti/Kudüs” yılı ilan edildi. Bu doğrultuda, Mayıs ayındaki vakıflar haftası belirtilen konu çerçevesinde sempozyum, sergi ve diğer etkinliklerle kutlandı. Bu çalışmamızda biz de konuya bir nebze katkıda bulunmak amacıyla Şam’da bulunan “Salâhaddîn Emevî Külliye-i İslâmiyyesi” ve Suriye Evkâf Müdürü olan Mehmet Cemil tarafından Dersaadet’ten gelen heyet için hazırlanan ve İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Atatürk Kitaplığında kayıtlı bulunan Kudüs’teki Harem-i Şerîf‘in kısa tarihini anlatan “Tarihçe-i Harem-i Şerîf-i Kudsî” adlı risâleyi transkripsiyonsuz olarak günümüz alfabesine çevirmek suretiyle yayınlamayı uygun olarak değerlendirdik.
The year 2017 was declared as the year of “Foundation Civilization-Jerusalem” by the Directorate General of Foundations. Accordingly, the foundations week in May was celebrated through symposium, exhibition and some other activities within the framework of this theme. In this study, in order to make a meaningful contribution to this theme, a booklet called “Tarihçe-i Harem-i Şerîf-i Kudsî” which includes a short history of the Harem-i Şerif in Jerusalem was reprinted by transliterating into current Turkish alphabet. The original booklet is kept in Atatürk Library of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality and it was prepared by Mehmed Cemil who was the director of Syrian Foundations and “Salâhaddîn Emevî Külliye-i İslâmiyyesi” (Selahaddin Umayyad Islamic Complex) in Damascus for the committees coming from İstanbul.
