Günümüze dek batmamış halde ulaşabilen dünyanın en eski teknesi ‘Tarihi Kadırga’ Deniz Müzesi koleksiyonundadır. Teknenin dünya gemicilik tarihi içinde büyük bir önemi vardır. Önemine rağmen kitleler tarafından yeterince tanınmamaktadır. Deniz tarihi araştırmalarının fazla olmaması elbette bir mazeret değildir. Bu tekne için trilyonluk bütçeler hazırlanarak özel yapılar inşa edilmiştir. Kurumlar tarafından kıymetinin bilindiği ancak halk nezdinde, popüler eserler klasmanında yer almadığı görülmektedir. Tekne üzerine yazılmış bilgiler yıllar içinde derlenmiştir. Kaynaklar ışığında tanımlanması ve tarihlendirilmesine çalışılacaktır.
The oldest boat in the world that has never been sunk is known as “Historical Galley” and exhibited in the Naval Museum of Turkey. This boat has a great importance in the history of world navigation. Despite its importance, it is not well known by the masses. Of course, there is no excuse for not having a lot of navigation history researches. By spending large budgets, a special environment has been prepared for this boat. The historical importance of the Galley is widely known by related institutions but it is not so popular with the public. This study discusses and evaluates the documented information and literature about the boat that has been gathered throughout the years.

The articles sent to the Journal of Waqfs with a request for publication are subject to preliminary examination by the Editorial Board and at least two academicians who are experts in their fields are sent for review. The copyright of the articles accepted to be published in the Journal of Waqfs with the referee reports and the decision of the Editorial Board is deemed to have been transferred to the General Directorate of Foundations, and a royalty fee is paid to the published articles in accordance with the relevant legislation.
