It can be said that the Turkish
migration, which started from Central Asia to Central Europe with the
leadership of the Seljuks, and finally settled down in Anatolia, was carried
out mainly by the nomadic communities. This social-historical process, which
started with the settlement of the Great Seljuks towards the Byzantine border
and the gate of Anatolia, seems to have continued with similar events in the
Mongol invasion that began in the 1220s and later. Dedebalı community, which
was one of the Turkish communities that took refuge in Anatolia from the
Khwarazm Shah State that was demolished by the Mongols, and the traces of the
community in Anatolia and the Balkans have constituted the subject of this
study. The first study on this subject was carried out on the Dedebalılar
village of Uşak district. As the second in this series, the present study deals
with Dedebalı village of Harmancık district. The next study will be on Dedebalı
village of Tırnova sanjak, being the last link of this chain of study.
