The effects of copper (II) sulphate toxication on mice liver morphology, liver protein electrophoresis and plasma biochemical findings were investigated in this study. A total of 21 mice divided into 3 groups. Serum physiologic (0.9% NaCl) was given to control group for 5 days intra-peritoneally. Copper sulfhate at 2 and 6 mg/kg respectively were given to two experimental groups. The blood and liver samples were collected from subjects at the end of the study. Histopathological, electrophoretic and plasma biochemical analyses were performed on these samples. Liver degeneration was determined in dose dependent manner according to histopathological findings. Thinning on the protein bands of 2 mg/kg copper sulphate group and thickening on the protein bands of 6 mg/kg copper sulphate group were observed with reference to control group data in liver protein electrophoresis. Plasma Total Oxidant Status (TOS) for both experimental groups were increased statistically (p<0.05) in the biochemical analyses. However, plasma AST levels increased at 6 mg/kg copper sulphate group only (P<0.01). As a consequence, copper sulphate toxication has negative effect on the liver histopathology and liver protein electrophoresis of mice, but there were no supportive effect of plasma biochemical data exactly
Bu çalışmada bakır (II) sülfat toksikasyonunun ergin fare karaciğer morfolojisi, karaciğer protein
elektroforezi ve plazma biyokimyasal bulguları üzerine etkileri araştırıldı. Toplam 21 fare 3 gruba bölündü. 5
gün süreyle intraperitonal olarak kontrol grubuna serum fizyolojik, çalışma gruplarına sırasıyla 2 ve 6 mg/kg
bakır sülfat verildi. Çalışma sonunda, deneklerden kan ve karaciğer örnekleri toplandı. Bu örnekler üzerinde
histopatolojik, elektroforetik ve biyokimyasal analizler yapıldı. Histopatolojik bulgulara göre doza bağlı
olarak karaciğerde dejenerasyonlar tespit edildi. Karaciğer protein elektroforezinde kontrol grubuna kıyasla
2 mg/kg bakır sülfat grubunda protein bantlarında incelme, 6 mg/kg CuSO4 grubunda protein bantlarında ise
kalınlaşma gözlemlendi. Biyokimyasal analizlerde plazma Total Oksidan Seviyesi (TOS) her iki grupta da
istatistiksel olarak önemli düzeyde arttı (P
