Van’da Bir Kızıl Şahinde (Buteo rufinus) İlk Rhipicephalus turanicus Olgusu

Year 2015, Volume: 26 Issue: 1, 39 - 41, 01.04.2015

Abstract

The First Case of Rhipicephalus turanicus from Red Hawk (Buteo rufinus) in Van

Year 2015, Volume: 26 Issue: 1, 39 - 41, 01.04.2015

Abstract

Ticks are considered significant in veterinary, either by acting as vectors of serious pathogens. The present study was carried out to survey ticks those infesting red hawk. A wounded red hawk was brought to the veterinary surgery clinic in Van, July 2010 with the complaint of injury. On examination, around the eyes of red hawk, 11 adult ticks (11 females) were found. Whole crucial characters of collected samples were studied with the help of stereo microscope. The collected ticks were identified Rhipicephalus turanicus.
