Abstract
Purpose: In this study, it is aimed to determine whether the perceptions of international students towards the city, where they visit for higher education differ according to demographic variables and the effect of these perceptions on destination loyalty.
Methodology: The universe of the research consists of international students studying at Akdeniz University in Antalya. Data from 200 students were collected through questionnaires with the Convenience Sampling Method.
Findings: It is concluded that the perception of foreign students coming to Antalya towards the city is generally positive; Antalya is perceived by students as a safe city, a religiously and racially free city and an exciting place to live.
Originality: Despite Turkey gives importance to the mobility of international students, there aren’t any comprehensive studies (thesis, articles, etc.) on this subject and it is thought this study will contribute to the existing literature. Also, benefits will be offered to practitioners by the recommendations to higher education institutions that accept international students. Developing strategies and policies within educational tourism are thought to contribute to the tourism of the country and the province.
