The study is shaped to analyze the basic components of medical tourism in the world in detail. In the study, medical tourism is examined from the perspective of marketing; some basic issues such as treatment opportunities and quality, accreditation, malpractice, intermediary institutions, price differences between countries and the use of touristic products in treatment process are discussed through marketing mix elements. In this way, the content of medical tourism product; pricing and the impact of prices on medical tourists; the roles of insurance companies and intermediary institutions in the distribution, and the promotion and ethical issues in the promotion is possible to evaluate. In addition, the supply of medical tourism is discussed in terms of people factor, consisting mostly of doctors and health workers. All physical elements, especially the quality of medical equipment in medical tourism, are evaluated within the physical evidences, and the accreditation and malpractice issue, which have been widely discussed, is evaluated under the title of process. Thus, a conceptual framework is presented for all aspects that shape today's medical tourism. These mentioned aspects also reveal the qualities necessary for medical tourism destinations and businesses to strengthen their competitiveness.
