In a rapidly globalizing world, due to competition, the geographical boundaries of countries gradually lose their importance and remain as a political border. This, in turn, obliged enterprises to follow the developments in technology closely in order to provide a competitive advantage over other enterprises by taking decisions more accurately and quickly. This need is increasing day by day and it shows itself clearly. As a result, the developments in Information Technology are monitored and recorded by the enterprises in parallel with the rapid developments in technology. Information Technology has been developed to manage the information systems that are computer based and necessary for the businesses. In order to reduce costs, to compete and to find new markets, the need for Information Technology in enterprises is increasing day by day. For these reasons, businesses have had to use Information Technology and have become IT-dependent in the course of time. Thus, it is clear that Information Technology affects organizational performance. In the study, the definition and scope of Information Technology, the reasons of the use of IT in enterprises, its effects on enterprises and the effects of IT on organizational performance have been emphasized and detailed. The results of the effects of the use of Information Technology on organizational performance are examined and elaborated. In the study; surveys are conducted and the situation of enterprises operating in the field of shirt production in Istanbul which is TR1 region is tried to be analyzed.
