Information is the basis of our individual attitudes and behaviours. Some of this information is obtained with education and some with environmental factors. These two sources of information have an equally important impact on individuals' financial literacy levels. These resources are at the core of both our attitudes and behaviours. One of the financial products that is considered to be important for the financial markets is the private pension system. This product acts as an assurance tool for the working population and also for the unemployed, a guarantee for the future. It is not an area that has been experienced by people as it is a system that has begun to develop and expand in the society. Individuals who will participate in the private pension system act depending on their knowledge and financial literacy status. In the study, we tried to determine whether the financial literacy levels of individuals depending on their financial attitudes and behaviours have an impact on their participation in the private pension system. For this reason, the questionnaire form created within the scope of the research is applied online to 405 participants between 13.02.2020 and 17.02.2020. The data obtained are analysed with SPSS 21 and the Structural Equality Model and it is determined that the financial literacy levels that developed depending on the financial attitude and financial behaviour of individuals has a positive effect on their participation in the private pension system.
