Periodic operational results of companies and hence financial performances related to these results concern a wide range of people called “interest groups or stakeholders of the enterprise”. It is essential for businesses to operate successfully in a dynamic environment with intense competition and to sustain their endlessly accepted lifetimes, to check the results of the activities and to measure performance constantly. Financial performance measurement is done with generally accepted financial ratios. However, measurements using a large number of financial ratios have limitations in terms of time, cost and effectiveness. Due to these constraints, many Multi-Criteria Decision Making Techniques have been developed that provide the same level of success by using fewer rates. In the study, financial performances of 7 firms whose shares are traded in Borsa İstanbul (BİST) retail sector and similar in their fields of activity, for the period of 2017-2019; measured using intuitionistic fuzzy EDAS (IF-EDAS) method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision making techniques, using 10 generally accepted financial ratios. The findings show that effective performance measurement can be made with a small number of rates over a 2-3 year period.
