Abstract
In the study, parallel to the developments in the health sector, the development of health informatics, master’s and doctoral education programs, thesis, books, conferences, summits, fairs, and journals in the field of health informatics in Turkey, are analyzed academically. As a result of the research, it is determined that there are 19 associate degree programs, 23 master and 10 doctorate programs that provide education in the field of health informatics. When the thesis written in the field of health informatics are examined, it is determined that 67 master's thesis, the first of which was published in 2002, and 20 doctoral thesis, one of which is a thesis of expertise in medicine and the first of which was published in 2003, are found. The number of books published in the field of health informatics is 26. In Turkey, congresses are also organized in the field of health informatics. The International Health Informatics and Information Security Congresses were held five times between 2016-2021, and the National Medical Informatics Congresses were held 13 times between 2001 and 2021. In addition, three different associations operate in Turkey. There is also a journal that publishes in relation to health informatics. It is suggested that the number of institutions providing education in the field of health informatics in Turkey and the number of scientific activities organized on this subject should be increased.
