Bibliometric Map Analysis with VOSviewer of 1979-2023 Period Works That Take the Speaking of Regional Development and Applications in the Field of Economy

Abstract

The research aims to contribute to the academic literature by using bibliometric methods together with the network analysis of the studies on "Regional Development" and its applications in leading international journals in the field of "Economics". In line with this goal, 6,430 studies published in the "Economics" category journals in the "Web of Science (WoS)" database between 1979 and 2023 are identified and analyzed in February 2023. In the bibliometric analysis of the studies, the parameters are determined and specified in detail. At the same time, VOSviewer program is used by performing mapping and visualization work, and common network analysis and cooperation relationships are visualized and included in the study. According to the results of the research, it is seen that the number of studies and citations increased at the maximum level in 2015, "International Business Information Management Assoc-Ibima" is a leading journal in this field, "Nijkamp, Peter" is the author who does the most work and "Pedregal Diego J." is the author who receives the most citations, the studies are evaluated most in the field of "Article", "English" is used as the writing language, and the vast majority of the studies are evaluated between multiple disciplines. Another of the most important findings is that the country of publication (Russia) and the most cited (UK) study countries are not the same. Finally, it is determined that Krugman, Lucas and Porter were in the field of study and the most cited studies.

Ekonomi Alanında Bölgesel Kalkınma ve Uygulamalarını Konu Alan 1979-2023 Dönemi Çalışmalarının VOSviewer ile Bibliyometrik Haritalama Analizi

Abstract

Araştırma, “Ekonomi” alanında önde gelen uluslararası dergilerde “Bölgesel Kalkınma” ve uygulamalarını konu alan çalışmaların ağ analizleriyle birlikte bibliyometrik yöntemler kullanılarak akademik yazına katkı sağlanması hedeflenmektedir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda, Şubat 2023’de 1979-2023 yılları arasında “Web of Science (WoS)” veri tabanında “Ekonomi” kategorisindeki dergilerde yayınlanan 6.430 çalışma tespit edilerek analize tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışmaların bibliyometrik analizinde, parametreler belirlenerek ayrıntılı bir şekilde belirtilmiştir. Aynı zamanda haritalama ve görselleştirme çalışması yapılarak VOSviewer programı kullanılmış olup ortak ağ analizi ve iş birliği ilişkileri görselleştirilerek çalışmada yer verilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre çalışmalar ve atıf sayıları 2015 yılında maksimum seviyede arttığını, “Uluslararası İşletme Bilgi Yönetimi Assoc-Ibima” bu alanda öncü bir dergi olduğu, “Nijkamp, Peter” en çok çalışma yapan ve “Pedregal Diego J.” en çok atıf alan yazar olduğu, çalışmaların en çok “Makale” alanında değerlendirildiği, yazım dili olarak “İngilizce” kullanıldığı, çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğunun çoklu disiplinler arasında değerlendirildiği görülmektedir. En önemli bulgulardan bir diğeri ise, yayın yapılan ülke (Rusya) ile en çok atıf alan (İngiltere) çalışma ülkelerinin aynı olmadığı görülmektedir. Son olarak çalışma alanı ve en çok alıntı yapılan çalışmalar alanında Krugman, Lucas ve Porter olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
